Group Financial Accountant

Our client in the ICT industry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. As a key member of the organisation, you will oversee the group’s financial accounting activities, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting across the board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day financial accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements (income statement, balance sheets, and cash flow statements) with accuracy and in compliance with accounting standards.
• Lead balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies or variances promptly.
• Handle tax reconciliations and submissions (ZA & KE).
• Coordinate and support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
• Provide financial insights to support decision-making, including variance and trend analysis.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
• Provide financial guidance to cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA SAICA or similar professional certification preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in financial accounting, ideally within the technology or cybersecurity industry.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (Acumatica) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teams and external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership skills and a collaborative team player.
• High ethical standards and integrity in managing sensitive financial data.
